Modern painting has to constantly reinvent itself. It can rely on a unique tradition it is at once keeping alive and disrupting, because the desire to renew and reinvent itself arises from it. That is because this traditionis all about capturing the constantly evolving zeitgeist in images that are being used for the first time.

This tradition requires a certain distance and a continuous transformation of its foundations through the development of a new imagery. The modern visual language is supposed to convey the evolutions in contemporary society. Its appearance is unfamiliar in comparison with the painting styles that we know, but after a certain time we realise that renewal was a logical step in the artistic evolution.
